The Children of the Earth Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by the Tom Brown Jr. Tracker School. Through the Coyote Tracks Programs, they teach wilderness survival, nature awareness, tracking, and outdoor environmental education to youth ages 7-17. Stepping Stones has worked collaboratively with COTEF to offer wilderness overnights at Commonweal Garden in Bolinas.
Green Gulch Farm Zen Center, also known as Green Dragon Temple (Soryu-ji), is a Buddhist practice center in the Japanese Soto Zen tradition offering training in Zen meditation and ordinary work. Stepping Stones has worked closely with their staff on development of their Coming of Age program for middle school youth.
Mosaic seeks to create cross-cultural alliances, mentoring relationships and social connections built upon personal trust and commitment to bridging unhealthy divisions in contemporary communities. This organization was founded by Michael Mead, a member of the Stepping Stones Project Elder Council
The Ojai Foundation offers young and old, individuals and groups, an opportunity to explore community, live close to nature, find renewal, build friendships, and mark significant rites of passage through ceremony and quiet reflection.
The Regenerative Design Institute (RDI) is a non-profit educational organization providing courses and workshops designed to effectively teach the skills necessary to live a more sustainable life on the planet. Their primary teaching facility is at Commonweal Garden, a 17-acre organic permaculture farm surrounded by the wilderness of the Point Reyes National Park in Bolinas. Stepping Stones is working collaboratively with RDI to develop an earth-based rites of passage program for high school students.
The School of Lost Borders is an international leader in contemporary vision quests. The school is located in the eastern Sierra Nevada and offers programs for both youth and adults.
Spirit Rock Meditation Center is dedicated to the teachings of the Buddha as presented in the vipassana tradition. The Center hosts a full program of ongoing classes, daylong programs, and residential retreats, including special programs for youth.
Wilderness Reflections offers wilderness adventures for personal growth and self discovery, for both youth and adults. Wilderness Reflections was founded by Dave Talamo, a Stepping Stones group leader and member of our Vision Council.
Tandem journey provides information to parents of teens on a variety of topics.
