East Bay Parent Open House

April 16th, 7-9 pm - Berkeley ​
Learn about the Stepping Stones program and how we support youth through interactive presentations by members of the SSP community and experts in the field of youth development. Experience our philosophy and the tools of connection and communication we use in the groups!

A Conversation about Early Teen Development
Presenters: Diana Divetcha, Ph.D., Emily Frost, and staff member Jenny Michaelson.

Diana Divecha, Ph.D. is a Berkeley-based developmental psychologist who consults, writes, and speaks about the science of how children, teens and families grow and develop. She is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Yale Child Study Center and an advisor to UC Berkeley's Greater Good Science Center. She was on the faculty of Sonoma State University and chaired their program on Interdisciplinary Studies in Human Development. Her articles have appeared in Washington Post; Time, Inc., Psychology Today, San Francisco Chronicle, and more, and her blog is www.developmentalscience.com.  Diana and her husband have two daughters happily launched into adulthood.

Emily Frost works with youth and families at the intersection of developmental psychology and rites of passage. She is the visionary behind 'Love Your Nature' and 'Teen Real Talk', programs that develop social, emotional, and spiritual intelligence, with a focus on girls coming of age. She offers girls groups, workshops, retreats, 1:1 coaching and consulting. Emily has been working with the Stepping Stones Project for 6+ years, serving many roles including former Executive Director. Emily lives in Berkeley with her husband and 1 year old son.
