Jared Wood is an educator, musician, and freelance editor and designer based in Berkeley. He is passionate about educative practices that inspire and empower, particularly those that reconnect people to their living relationship with mother Earth.
In 2012, he co-founded an experiential education network where he led workshops like Spanish language immersion salsa-making class to drum circles in the park to explorations of psychogeography. Currently, Jared works with homeschool youth gardening, making media, cooking, and developing emotional awareness and communication skills. Jared graduated from UCSD with a B.A. in Philosophy in 2011 and from NOLS Patagonia in 2009 as a mountaineer, kayaker, and expedition chef. He plays piano and keyboard with Open Sorcerer, a creative music trio, and is a member of a beloved men’s circle, Big Boys. When he's not gardening, backpacking and "researching” for his blog Backcountry Gourmet, he is likely to be found behind a keyboard or by the fire. |
