Meet the Village
The Stepping Stones team is based on a village model of intergenerational council members working together in a shared vision to support youth in forging new connections to themselves, their community, and the environment. This village community is one of many things that makes Stepping Stones a ground-breaking and unique organization.
Staff
The Stepping Stones Project Staff is a hard working team of passionate, creative leaders in the field of mentoring, youth development, nature connection, and rites of passage.

Group Leaders
Our Leaders are skilled professionals from many disciplines — educators, therapists, wilderness guides and group facilitators — carefully chosen for their expertise and dedication to supporting young people through rites of passage experiences. We honor their passion, integrity and commitment in holding the youth and families.
Elders Council
The SSP Village is greatly enhanced by the presence of older, more experienced individuals. Their presence as advisors, witnesses, and storytellers supports the whole village. We honor the Elder Council members who have volunteered their time, wisdom and support as a give-away to the village.
Board of Directors
The SSP Board of Directors is an intergenerational “working board” and plays a critical role in supporting SSP’s Coming-of-Age program. The Board is made up of creative, talented, and committed individuals who share SSP’s vision of supporting generations of authentic, integrated human beings through intentional Coming-of-Age experiences.
Program Council & Coming of Age Training Facilitators
The Program Council is a strong team of long-time SSP folks, most of whom have lead multiple groups. In addition to supporting group Leaders, members of the Program Council have the exciting task of advising on and developing the heart of the Coming-of-Age program.
Community Partners
Our Community Partners are a diverse group of individuals who have offered their wisdom, guidance, and professional skills to the Stepping Stones community. They have participated in our Councils and Board of Directors, led Speaker Series and workshops, shared ceremonies with SSP, and offered their gifts in many ways to support our organization. Gratitude to our Community Partners!
