Melanie feels most at home in nature and enjoy being able to connect with others in that space. She grew up on the east coast loving more than anything wandering barefoot through the meadows and streams behind her grandmother’s house in Vermont. She likes to hike, bike, camp, backpack, cook and dance.
Melanie has been working with youth for the past ten years and has a passion for supporting young women in developing their own unique voices. She holds a BA in Psychology and Dance from Goucher College in Baltimore, MD. Melanie recently graduated with her master’s degree from the Somatic Psychology program at the California Institute of Integral Studies and is pursuing licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Practitioner Clinical Counselor. She is interested in how we can live embodied lives growing more deeply connected to our authentic selves, each other, and our mother earth.
She has had her own experiences of support from elders and peers at summer camp and at dance when she was young and is grateful for how they helped to shape her. Community has always been important in Melanie's life, and she is excited for this opportunity to be part of the Stepping Stones community supporting young people.
