Sam Sohmer, M.A. is a graduate of the East-West Psychology Master’s program at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS). Originally from Texas, Sam double majored in psychology and philosophy at Texas State University and was trained as a caretaker for the cognitively disabled.
Outside of his academic and experiential studies, which include spiritual counseling, eco-psychology,archetypal mythology, and more, Sam is passionately engaged with Earth-based healing and community practices that acknowledge the rites of passage embedded within nature and the human soul. Sam is also proud to be a new father to his adorable son, Julian.
Sam is also an eclectic musician, focusing on live and improvisational compositions accompanying movement based practices such as yoga and dance. He has completed a Permaculture Design Course (PDC) at the Occidental Arts and Ecology Center and is eager to share the principles of this holistic and applied philosophy with the Stepping Stones village and beyond.
