After retiring early as Principal at Telecom Pros, Inc., as a telecommunications Project Manager, Virginia Easterday (Jinni) furthered her education by earning a DMin at UCS, Oakland, 2001 specializing in interspecies communication.
She counts among her experiences playing music (jamming) with singing orcas in Johnstone Strait, British Columbia and later with humpback whales in Southeast Alaska. She served as a volunteer research assistant at The Gorilla Foundation where she spoke American Sign Language with Michael the gorilla and logged their conversations. Her first book Star Soup: What the Animals Taught Me About the Universe, is being edited prior to publication. She and her husband Neil have just celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary and they have a grown son, Gabriel, who lives and works in San Francisco.
